                                     2017 FISHING CALENDAR

January

Snook & Trout are abundant on the shallow flats and Red fish, Black Drum, Flounder on end of flats.  The Pompano can be thick in the bay near the beaches

February

Snook: Shallow Waters

Red fish, Black drum, Sheepshead: Deeper Waters

March

Captain Steve’s favorite month for Snook, Red Fish and Trout.  There are days he catches over 100 Snook.

April

Fish are hot everywhere, including monster Trout, giant Cobia.  Fishing is generally excellent everywhere and Snook and Red Fish are all over the flats.

May

May 1st marks the beginning of the migration of Tarpon.  Thousands of Tarpon flood into the Bay. Still plenty of large Grouper, Red Fish and Snapper

June

Captain Steve targets on Tarpon fishing again.  It’s also a great month to hook up Bull Red Fish, Snook, Grouper, Tunny, Mackerel and Shark in the bays and offshore.

July

Captain Steve’s last month of Tarpon fishing during migration. Tarpon schools can be massive this month.  Trout can be caught by the hundreds. Snapper are thick in the Bay.

August

The bait have spawned out this month and there are millions of tiny minnows that the fish are feasting on.  Captain Steve targets Bull Red Fish in shallow waters. Most of the Reds are over 30 inches.  Snook, Trout and Mackerel are plenty as they feed on the live bait.

September

Is much like August. There are lots good size eating Trout and Red Fish.

Lots of Fishing Tournaments in area.

October

Weather is perfect and fishing is great.  The Snook are feeding great and the larger fish are getting easier to catch. Offshore fishing includes King Fish, Tunny, Mackerel, Grouper, Flounder, Snapper and Amberjack.

November

Grouper fishing is better in bay this month. Close offshore fishing (within 10 miles) includes: King Fish, Albacore and Mackerel.  Fewer boats on the water makes it very relaxing. Chance to catch HUGE Groupers and Gags!

December

Fish are still biting as day to day temperatures may fluctuate 30 degrees.   Grouper and Snapper are in action. Still biting are Red Fish, Black Drum and Flounder.  Spending your holidays with Captain Steve will be the best present you can give yourself!
